A new "fork in the road!"

Look what Holden learned to do tonight!
Holden has been pleading for our silverware at every meal for the past two months. About once or twice a week, I let him try out his own little plastic "sporks" (a spoon/fork combo) and he always ended up trying to stir with them like he sees us do when we cook, knocking food everywhere. Tonight we tried again and lo and behold, he figured it out! Well....almost....he still sometimes had to put the food on it with his hands first, then put it in his mouth, and at least 1/2 of every bite landed in his lap...but still, we were very proud of his new milestone, and so was he!
"Let me just speed up this process..." (His own bowl wasn't enough...he had to try out Daddy and Mommy's, too!)

Okay so we are still working on how to keep it all in his mouth....

A little video action for ya:

So exciting! I know you have been trying this for along time, and now, he is doing it! :) Life is so much easier when they actually try what you want them to do! :) Yeah, Holden!

Yeah for Holden! Ben still doesn't like utensils....and he's 3...so way to go! (mostly has to do with the fact that he doesn't like food!!) He is soooo cute!

Yea! He's doing a great job!

Just wanted to reply to your comment on my blog about Owen's reading time. This just started very recently. He is very much a go go go little boy but has recently become able to sit and listen and read (as long as it's a book of his own choice) for quite a while. I LOVE it! It's one of the only times of day (except bedtime) that I just get to hold him.

It definitely took time for Owen. He's almost 3 and just now does it! I bet Holden will too as he gets older. 18 months is such a busy boy age, isn't it?! :)
