The 3rd floor was recently redone, and there is an imagination theater area. Holden LOVES it and puts on quite the show in the different costume get-ups he concocts.
Papa and Hunter filled in while Holden switched outfits.
Hunter took a liking to the spider hat. (Maybe he was remembering his Halloween costume?)
Not sure what's going on here...band director? Toy soldier?
Country Western theme
We ran into some cousins, Ashley and Evan. The kids are like, third or fourth cousins on Jay's side and the funny thing is they don't know each other at all and didn't know they were cousins until we told them! Their mom, Melissa, and I are facebook friends and swap kid stories frequently so it was fun to see them together in person. Evan and Holden watched a train leave the station out the window, and then Ashley and Holden had a little "feast." :)
Hunter enjoyed people watching, playing in the toddler area, and hanging out with Grammy and Papa.
There were brothers that have a band playing later in the morning on the stage. They had electric guitars and were extremely loud-of course Holden loved them! He stood with his hands in his pockets and just beamed at them with admiration in his little guitar shirt. I am hoping the novelty wears off before he's their age; I like his short-haired, preppy/sporty look! ;) He also manned one of his favorite areas, the train table, did some dancing on the music floor, and got his face painted.
After naps, Jay got home and we headed to the Cunninghams' house. Here is Take 1 of all the kids on the couch! After it was shot we realized Cade and Levi were missing.
Take two: Baby Levi inserted between Chase and Hunter, Cade on the left end. Looking at these today, I realized that Jonah is not in any of them. Wonder where he was hiding?
My two cutie pies ready for 2011!
Hunter's first New Year's Eve
A few snapshots from the evening: Lauren and Holden playing, (he continued to wear the crown) :) smiley Cade, and lil' Miss Ava.
Chase and Hunter collage. As usual, their friendship/socialization consists mainly of chewing on things and swapping drool. They are too cute together!
I had great plans of getting pictures of everyone else, including proof that Jay was with us! Alas, around 10:30, and not long after we finally had Hunter sleeping soundly in a pack n' play in the older boys' bedroom, Holden threw up all over Annie's living room carpet. Turns out he had bronchitis...and after running around so much he coughed so hard he vomited. The ride home consisted of both boys screaming; Hunter because he was exhausted and we woke him up, and Holden because he didn't feel good and was so upset he had to leave his friends. I looked at Jay and just started laughing and said, "Well, Happy New Year!" We were all in bed by 11:00 and Jay and I did watch the ball drop an hour early in New York before falling asleep. We are such an exciting family! Poor Holden took a little over a week to recover. My last 4 days off were spent trying to entertain my sick kiddo, running the nebulizer, force feeding him nasty Zithromax to help his bronchitis, and attempting to get him to eat any type of food he would agree to, which wasn't much. He was miserable. I was bummed because we wanted to do fun family things on our last few days off together. But thankful that I was able to be home with him.
Here is a picture of him on New Year's Day. Look at those sad, brown, puppy dog eyes. I assured him 2011 would get better!
