Katie Mann's baby shower

A few weekends ago, I co hosted a baby shower with Jay's mom, cousin, and aunt for Katie, who is married to Jay's cousin, Tim. (Did you follow all of that?) :) Katie's mom was a sorority sister at ISU, so we were able to use the sorority house for the party. She and Tim are expecting their first baby, a little boy to be named Kyle, in August. Jay and I could not be more happy for them, or about the fact that Holden will finally have a BOY cousin on the Kerber side of the family! (He is blessed with lots and lots of girl cousins.) It will be neat that they will be close in age and able to play together. Tim and Jay share a love of the Cardinals, so I am sure some trips to ballparks are in our future. We know Tim and Katie will make wonderful parents to little Kyle!

Chelsey, Kelsey, Allison, and Tiffany were kind enough to offer to hold up a sign they had made stating, "Katie's Baby Shower," along the street, so that people knew where to turn. I was impressed with how eager they were to be helpful...

...and then we started hearing frequent horns honking and I got suspicious...let's just say they had a hidden agenda on the BACK of the sign! Crazy girls! Jay decided to pay them a little visit with his squad car, but none of those pictures turned out. They knew it was him pretty quickly, since the county cars are a "lovely" poop brown color and the girls all know this. :)
Some shots from the shower. Kyle's nursery will be a Looney Tunes theme, and the cake matched. We had a great turnout and these are some pictures of the relatives. Katie looked so cute in her blue top. I love baby bumps!
A few shots of the expectant Mommy. The bunny suit is a joke for Tim. He is a huge fan of the movie, "A Christmas Story," and if you've seen the movie, you know why she received the suit. She is going to wrap it back up and have Tim open it with the baby on Christmas morning! :) We all had fun oohing and ahhing over the teeny tiny little outfits. Katie looked so happy. I hope she had a great day! We all can't wait for Kyle to make his arrival.
