Fourth of July 08!

So yes, I took a zillion and one pictures (did you really expect any less?) and no, I couldn't narrow them down too well! Click on the collages to see the pics larger. Enjoy! =o)

These were actually taken during the evening of July 3. He had his cute little patriotic tank outfit on and I caught him playing with his pinwheel out front. He's such a ham!

In Towanda on the 4th to see Jay's side of the family at Great Aunt Jean's annual garage sale. The town holds a big flea market type of thing on the square with food, entertainment, and sales. Holden loved his lemon shake-up, being loved on by all his relatives, and watching all the action. Memaw introduced him to a slot machine....uh oh, I think he's been bit by Daddy's gambling bug already!!!!

Happy 4th! Posing in his patriotic outfit and enjoying the neighborhood parade in his decked out wagon. Grammy and Papa, Memaw and Pepaw, and Great Grandpa Schulz came to cheer him on, and we also enjoyed hanging out with many neighborhood buddies!

Ready for the fireworks at the ISU golf course! They didn't start until 9:30 and we arrived at 8:00...which was a loooong wait with a tired 15 month old in tow! He tried to jump in the pond, climb in the sand traps (thought they were giant sandboxes!), and make himself right at home with various strangers on their blankets. Oh, and run away with Papa's radio more than a few times! Once the fireworks started he was MESMIRIZED...jumped in my lap and just stared with huge, round eyes. That is the stillest I've ever seen him while still awake! He was funny blinking at the really big, loud ones, and jumping a few times, but he didn't cry or seem scared. Way better than I ever did when I was little. I was hugging him at one point and I could feel his little heart thudding so hard I thought it would jump out of his chest! He's a trooper.

So much fun when you see your child see something for the first time. We didn't even make it to fireworks, Colin wanted to stay with Papa and GG and watch them from their house. HE still got the gist of it, and it was fine with us since Cade is so little. We are hoping next year...
