Holden's dedication

On Sunday morning we had Holden dedicated at church. For those of you that don't know, the dedication was an opportunity for us to stand before God and our fellow church members and make a promise to raise Holden in the Christian faith and to teach him about who God is and how he can have a personal relationship with him through His son, Jesus Christ. We hope that as he grows we can instill in him a strong faith and raise him to be a child of God. My parents, Memaw, and Aunt Allie were with us on this special day. Since it was also Father's Day, Jay and Daddy wore matching outfits and Mommy tried to fit in with the color scheme! =o)

My parents, Holden, Jay and me at church.

During the dedication ceremony, Holden was more interested in the electrical cords behind us.

"Why are you all looking at me?"

During the prayer Holden decided to add to it by loudly declaring, "DOH!" over and over. (His version of "No," fortunately the pastor thought it was funny!)

On the way to Aunt Mary's, "reading" the new Children's Bible Grammy and Papa got him. He loves the bright pictures!

"I like this book!" I know down the road he will know many of the stories by heart. I can't wait!

You sure did have a fun filled day on Sunday! What a great experience for Holden to look back on when he is older. I am glad the family was there to share in such a special occasion with you. Colin loves his Bible and we read it often, but not often enough, but he loves the bright colors too. Cade is just getting into books and loves listening (and chewing on them) too. Is that the clothing you are wearing for your pics next week? Cute!

Love the family pictures! Holden's dedication looked so special. It's cute how he was "reading" his new Bible too. :)
